In 2008 it was more focus to work more closely with the international adoption community. I have got so much in a short amount of time and treasure the support of the adoption community. Below are some of the major community projects I have been a part of.
You can also see more about the work I have done for the projects below on the [Websites] & [Design, Branding & Logos] pages.
Adopted the Comic (2009 – current)
- Creator & Illustrator in collaboration
- Free Online Adoption Comic
I have done a number of talks, read adoption resources and heard many views about adoption. However, while I think that adoption is a understandable serious and complex topic, I also find that there is not enough laughter in the adoption “conversation”. So I decided to do this comic for the community. I work in collaboration on the comic with writer Bart Ballard, a fellow Vietnamese adoptee based in the USA. It is great to be able to give back to the community especially in a creative way.

Adopted Vietnamese International (AVI) (2009 – Current)
- Website Designer & Advisory Network Member
- Adoptee lead Community group
In the early 2000s I started to explore adoption, but didn’t really know where to start. With my online searches I came across AVI. They were the first adoptee group that I came into contact with. It wasn’t until many years later that I become more actively involved with the group and in 2009 I was asked to become an Advisory Network member. In 2011 I completely revamped, consolidated and redesigned the vast AVI website and updated the logo.

Chinese Adult Adoptee Worldwide Reunion Website (CAAWR) (2009-2011)
- Website Designer & Committee Member
- Adoptee lead Community group
From 2009-2011 I was part of the committee that organised reunion events of Hong Kong & Chinese adoptees. I helped brand and design the website for the group. Being on this committee was much more than just a project, I made lasting friendships and will continue to the keep in contact with the group as they move on to future events.
