I later took the idea of rose petals and etched a single petal. This piece represents the three aspects of my names. The characters are the phonetic spelling of "Jessica" in Chinese and the rose petal represents my Vietnamese name Bich-Hoong given to me by my birthmother which I do not use any more which means pink rose.

This was a difficult process, since the membrane is still intact. Though the piece was placed between glass, I always intended for the piece to be temporary. This was one of the first pieces I did that removed my physical body from the piece.
